US based Nigerian doctor attacked by land speculators

 A Nigerian medical doctor based in the United States of America, Dr Olawale Oyegbola and two American investors he  brought to Nigeria were attacked by thugs and land speculators when they visited Orupodi village, in  Ibeshe,  Ikorodu, Lagos, southwest Nigeria.

Oyegbola, who holds the chieftaincy title of Otun Babalaje of Egba land, Ogun State, is based in Maryland, U.S.A.

He told P.M.NEWS that he obtained a loan from a bank in the U.S. to execute a business venture in the village.

But when he visited the village to show the investors  the 100 acres of land he had bought, they were confronted by hoodlums brandishing guns, cutlasses and other dangerous weapons.   The thugs who also shot in the air chased them out of  the land.

Oyegbola who is the chief executive officer of Protech Health Care Vibra Pac Ltd, told P.M. NEWS:  “ it is barbaric and arrant nonsense to see these omo onile (land speculators) who came to attack us. They threatened to shoot and ordered us to leave. We went there to see how the work will begin in earnest but those working at the site were beaten to a pulp.

“One of the land speculators even  killed one of the surveyors working at the site last year. He was arrested, charged to court and taken to Kirikiri prisons.  But when he came out of prison,  he continued his nefarious activities. He is currently being detained at the Federal SARS, Adeniji-Adele, Lagos because he wounded one of the men  named Nurudeen Lanni working with the agent I instructed to monitor the site for me. These people have the backing of prominent people in Lagos State.

  “We are working on putting resources and capacity to bring peaceful  and improved standard of living into the community by providing jobs with some American funding for medical facility, private schools, tourism facilities, estate mall, water taxi and there are photographic and video clips to back up the information and other registration with Lagos State Government.”

He said the leader of the land speculators was Tuesday invited to Federal SARS where he is being interrogated over the latest attack.
