Spartans Football Club have emerged winners of this year’s Golden Chance Lotto Cup Championship after they defeated Golden Chance FC in an explosive final that ended in penalty shoot-out at the Government Technical College, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.

Spartans defied all odds to hold the tournament favourites to a goalless draw at regulation time. Luck, however, favoured them when they won 4-2 in the penalty shoot-out to silence the hard-fighting Golden Lotto team.

Coach Peter Akande of Spartans was grateful to God for giving them the tournament, adding that the best team lifted the cup at the end of the day.
