University of Lagos, UNILAG beach volleyball teams in both the male and female events were a delight to watch in the final of the match decided yesterday at the sandy pitch of the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology, Bar Beach, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.
The UNILAG teams swept the gold medals of the male and female of the Beach Volleyball event. UNILAG boys beat Yaba College of Technology 25-23, 21-25, 15-14 points, while their ladies defeated the team from Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin 25-15, 25-9 points.
The winners in both the male and female categories won N150,000 each, while the runners up were given N90,000, while third placed won N50,000 each. St. Augustine College of Education won the third position in both the male and female categories.
Meanwhile, the track and field events of the ongoing Lagos Inter Tertiary Games started this morning at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. The tourney will be rounded off tomorrow at the stadium with events beginning from 1p.m.
