The Oyo State Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Lateef Akinsola (Tokyo) today defied the order of the Oyo State Police Command to report at the Command Headquarters, Eleyele 8a.m. today with Alhaji Lateef Salako (Eleweomo) following the crisis rocking the union in Ibadan, capital of Oyo State.
While Eleweomo reported at the command around 10a.m., Tokyo had not reported at the time of filing this report.
Upon the arrival of Eleweomo at the command, he was taken away to the Oyo State CID, Iyaganku for his statement to be obtained. As at the time of fiing this report, Eleweomo was still with the police at State CID, Iyaganku.
The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Adisa Baba Bolanta, has vowed to declare Tokyo wanted if he fails to turn himself up at the police headquarters.
All efforts to hear from Tokyo proved abortive as he could not be reached on phone.
P.M.NEWS gathered that Tokyo refused to turn up because he has lost confidence in the police authorities in Oyo State, and that he might either be killed or put in perpetual custody.
He once accused Bolanta of conspiracy with the Oyo State Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala to incriminate him with the aim of eliminating him, saying that all what is happening in Oyo State is as a result of the desperation of Akala to run for a second term.
Effort to reach the commissioner proved abortive as he was holding a weekly security meeting with his men.
