The Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Mr. Sunday Olurundahunsi, disclosed this to newsmen at his office in Abuja.
Olurundahunsio who is also the Secretary to the Committee, said that the former Attorney General of the Federation, would temporarily lose all the privileges attached to the rank of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
He explained that the action of the Committee was in response to a petition filed against the former justice minister by the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, CDHR, a non government organisation.
He added that the President of the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee, Mr. Olasupo Ojo, had forwarded the petition to the Committee.
According to Olurundahunsi, the SAN title would be withdrawn from Mr. Aondakaa until the Committee determines the allegations brought against him by the CDHR.
Contents of the petition which led to the temporary withdrawal of privileges against the former minister were not disclosed to newsmen.
Mr. Aondoakaa was bestowed with the rank of SAN in 2007.
