Commercial motorcyclists (Okada) and tricycle owners at Ajegunle, Olodi Apapa, Lagos, Nigeria have appealed to Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State to repair the damaged Boundary Road to ease the difficulties currently being experienced on the road by them and commuters.

An Okada rider, Mr. Tayo Okeowo, explained that the road  damaged their vehicles and caused avoidable accidents.

“We are appealing to Governor Fashola to repair the road and save us from changing the spare parts of our vehicles frequently. Some government inspectors came last month and inspected the road but nothing has been done so far,” he said.

Some  market women who spoke on the poor condition of the road attributed the high prices of their products  to the high cost of transportation by vehicle owners who always blame it on the bad road.

One of the residents, Mr. Isaac Olaniyan, lamented the traffic gridlock usually experienced on the road every morning, describing it as hectic. “It is always a do or die affair every morning whenever I am going to work. You will find motorists, tricycle and Okada riders struggling to overtake each other and avoid the terrible portions of the road,” he diclosed.
