In his bid to carry the residents of Orile and environs along in the day to day provision of security inOrile Iganmu and its environs, the new Divisional Police Officer of Orile Police Division has held a security meeting with the residents to discuss how best they could share the responsibility of providing useful information to combat criminal activities in the axis.
The meeting was held at the temporary police division in Orile, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.
Dignitaries present include the traditional ruler (baale) of Sari Iganmu, Chief Jonathan Alabi Balogun, Hon, Fatai Alabi, PCRC Secretary, Comrade Hamzat Adeyinka who represented the Apapa Iganmu Local Government, Mr. R.A Adenusi, Vice Chairman, PCRC and Chief Okonkwo, PRO, PCRC, Orile Police Division.
Speaking at the event, the DPO, Robinson Eregare, a Superintendent of Police, said: “I considered it necessary to invite you to this interactive session to discuss on how we could join hands to combat crimes which make Orile volatile. Orile is a busy area and highly populated with a lot of miscreants, rapists, hand bag/hand sets snatchers and Indian hemp smokers, among other criminal elements.
“I have invited you here because these criminals are not spirits. They are living with you people, and some of you even know them. That is why I have given out my phone numbers and those of my men for everybody to assist the police to arrest and prosecute the criminals,” he stated.
“That is how we are going to jointly defeat all the criminals in Orile. Just call and tell us about any criminal or criminal behaviour within your neighbourhood and my men will just come like spirits and do the job. In that way, peace will reign in Orile,” he appealed.
