The race to who become the next winner of the Glo Naija Sings narrowed with the double elimination of two more contestants—Najite and Ekeng—last Sunday.
The two were voted out after they recorded the lowest number of viewer votes. It was a shock result as Ekeng was seen as one of the strongest contestants and audience favourite since the beginning of the competition.
Host of the show, Olisa Adibua, dressed in all black, split the contestants into two groups with Boma, Ekeng and Najite in one and Rasine, Da Brodas, Casey and Peace in the other, thereafter announced Boma, Ekeng and Najite who were indeed the bottom three with lowest votes.
Olisa then handed the result card to Boma to read and she read out the sad news. Ekeng and Najite had been voted out. They, however, thanked their fans for their support, while Ekeng urged fans to look out for his first single which will be released in 2011.
During last Sunday’s show, the theme was Naija Classics as a number of classic and popular Nigerian hits were performed. The audience’s favourite of the night was Peace, who rocked the stage and wowed all.
The guest celebrity commentator of the night was hip hop gospel singer, Kenny St. Brown. Also among the other celebrities that were at the show were Glo ambassadors, Rita Dominic and Ini Edo.
