Leader of the legislative arm of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State, Mr. Kamorudeen Ogunbadejo, has been removed. He was impeached by five out of the seven members of the legislative arm last week, paving the way for Mrs. Omotayo Ife, who led the plenary session on Monday.
The former leader was reportedly impeached due to his indefinite absence from office, subjecting the whole council to disarray.

She added that since they waited endlessly for the leader, they later instructed the Deputy Leader, Mr. Onimole Babatunde Lateef, to get him on phone but the former leader was said to have responded in Yoruba language thus: “Mo wa ni Abuja. Se e ma ma so mi ni? Ko si nnka ti e le se fun mi,†meaning “Iâ€
They revealed that after 14 days without plenary session because the Clerk insisted on forming a quorum even though they had formed single majority, the legislators had to make the prevailing situation known to party leaders of the council area and Cardidal James Odunmbaku.
Continuing, they said after 40 days of absenteeism without notification of any kind or handing over to his deputy, Ogunbadejo was impeached.
