The search for Mr. Monday Iheacho, who was declared, wanted since 2009 by the Nigeria Police in connection with the series of bombings and kidnapping of oil workers in the oil- rich Niger Delta area of Nigeria with his militant group the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force has intensified.
Monday Iheacho, according to Police sources is believed to be involved in the recent activities of the militant Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force that has targeted different parts of the country like the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Lagos State and Jos for bombing.
The Police and other security outfits in the Niger Delta have therefore in the light of recent developments made Monday Iheacho one of their most wanted and prime targets in the continued fight against militancy and other violent crimes in the Niger Delta area of Nigeria.
However, while the Police is intensifying efforts to track the suspected militant down as they believe that he may be holing up somewhere in the country, the Rivers State Police Command has kept Mr. Louise Nnaji in their custody since February this year due to his alleged connection with Mr. Iheacho in the past. The police investigation revealed that Mr. Nnaji had sometime in 2008 sworn an affidavit on behalf of Mr. Iheacho.
Meanwhile, the Police is appealling to the general public to come up with any useful information that could lead to Monday Iheanacho’s arrest to answer to his alleged crime in the Niger Delta and other parts of the country.
