The police at Ojo Police Station in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, have arrested a middle aged man identified as John Michael for driving his LT Bus marked XR916JJJ dangerously at Volkswagen bus stop, along Badagry Expressway and causing the death of one Chidiebere John, a pedestrian.
The victim, P.M.NEWS learnt, died on the spot before help could reach him.
Traffic police from Ojo Police Station visited the scene and took the corpse to a publimortuary for autopsy while the driver was taken to the station for questioning.
In a similar development, there was a report at Oke-Odo Police Station that one Wale Adedeji drove a Nissan Maxima saloon car and had an accident along Abeokuta Expressway and died on the way to the hospital.
The Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in charge of Oke-Odo Police Station sent traffic policemen to the scene to recovered the damaged car while the corpse was taken to a public mortuary for autopsy.
The Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer while reacting to the two incidents advised motorists against over speeding and also warned them to always obey road signs to avoid accidents.
