Police Restrict Movement In Plateau

Ahead of tomorrow’s presidential election, Plateau State Police Command has announced restriction of movement today from 6pm to 6am tomorrow across the state.

 

This is apart from the normal restriction of movement nationwide on electiomn days.

 

The announcement came on the heels of fears that some hoodlums are planning to breach public peace in the state today.

 

Plateau State Police Commissioner , Dipo Ayeni who confirmed the threat to public peace ahead of tomorrow’s presidential polls in the state, said the police are not ready to take any chances this time.

 

According to Ayeni, the police will continue to make sure peace reigns in Plateau.

He stated further that the police and army helped to provide security in the state during the parliamentary elections and the same would be repeated all through other elections.

 

He warned all citizens in the state to avoid making statements capable of inciting the people against one another.

 

While urging residents to comply with the restriction order, he gave assurance that the police would provide adequate security that will guarantee safety of lives and property during and after the elections.

 

P.M.NEWS observed that the police have mobilised more its men to flash points and major roads in the state.
