Fashola Declared Winner, ACN-1,509,113, PDP-300,450

Governor Babatunde Fashola has been declared winner of the governorship election in Lagos State, South West Nigeria.

 

He won Tuesday’s election by more than a landslide, polling 1,509,113 votes as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in the 20 Local Government Areas of the state to defeat Dr. Ade Dosunmu of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who trailed far behind with 300,450 votes.

 

With this result, Fashola won by more than a landslide and has been re-elected into office for another four years.

The final results were announced by INEC Chief Returning Officer for Lagos, Prof. Bola Akinterinwa, who is the Acting Director General, Nigeria Institute of International Affairs, NIIA.

 

Akinterinwa declared Fashola winner of the governorship poll in Lagos State. He said Fashola had been re-elected for a second term.

 

In Ibeju-Lekki, which used to be the strong base of the PDP, Fashola polled 25,410 votes to defeat Dosunmu who scored 9,187 votes while the African Democratic Congress, ADC, came third with a paltry 111 votes.

 

In Epe, Fashola proved too strong for the PDP candidate by polling 46,076 votes to win by a landslide while Dosunmu only got 9,458 votes and Labour Party, LP, 790 votes to come third.

In Ikeja, Fashola won convincingly by polling 55,108 votes while Dosunmu only got 16,218 votes and the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, candidate got 302 votes.

 

The same goes for Eti-Osa where the incumbent governor polled 52,130 votes to defeat Dosunmu, who polled 14,147 votes.

 

The situation in Apapa Local Government was not different as Fashola won by a landslide, polling 38,201 votes to defeat Dosunmu who got 8,828 votes and the CPC, third with 907 votes.

 

In Lagos Island, the ACN candidate was stronger by polling 57,792 to beat the PDP candidate who got 7,819 votes while LP came third with 291 votes.

 

In Lagos Mainland, Fashola defeated Dosunmu by polling 59,824 votes while the PDP candidate got 11,966 votes and the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA came third with 768 votes.

 

Badagry, another stronghold of the PDP was captured by the ACN which polled 40,166 votes to beat the PDP which scored 9,632 votes while the LP got 516 votes to come third.

In Ojo Local Government, Fashola won by more than a landslide, polling 62,627 votes to comprehensively defeat Dosunmu of the PDP who polled 11,809 votes while APGA came third with 1,035 votes.

 

In Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, Fashola polled 61,719 votes to defeat Dosunmu, who polled 11,222 votes and APGA, third, with 1,120 votes.

 

The result in Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government showed that Fashola polled 101,910 votes to emerge clear winner by more than a landslide while Dosunmu polled 21,529 votes and ADC got 741 votes to come third.

 

In Mushin Local Government, Fashola polled 129,655 votes to comprehensively beat Dosunmu, who got a paltry 13,881 votes while LP came third, polling 953 votes.

 

Surulere, the home of the incumbent governor, Fashola ran away with 106,140 votes to floor Dosunmu, who scored 13,777 votes to come second while APGA got 646 votes to come third.

 

In Agege, Fashola won by polling 65,521 votes as against the 22,134 votes polled by Dosunmu while the CPC got 1,322 votes to come third.

 

In Oshodi-Isolo, Fashola polled 95,000 to beat Dosunmu who scored 19,917 votes while the ADC came third by polling 532 votes.

 

In Kosofe, Fashola also got massive votes. He polled 113,727 to defeat Dosunmu of the PDP, who polled 18,801 while LP came third with 2,012 votes.

 

Fashola won in Shomolu where he polled 79,081 votes to defeat Dosunmu, who polled 15,441 while ADC came third, polling 410 votes.

 

Fashola polled the highest votes in Alimosho Local Government by scoring 156,384 votes to defeat Dosunmu of the PDP, who polled 33,750 votes while ADC came third, polling 848 votes.

 

In Ikorodu Local Government, Fashola won by polling 88,311 votes as against the 15,373 votes which Dosunmu scored while ADC polled 507 to come third.

 

In the last Local Government, Ifako-Ijaiye, Fashola polled 74,331 votes to beat Dosunmu, who got 15,561 votes while LP came third, polling 775 votes.
