LAWMA Engineer Bags Award

The Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) has honoured the Lagos Waste Management Authority’s engineer, Mrs. Biola Oludiaye Kosegbe, with its prestigious award, the 2010 Emerging Leader Award.

The association through its president, Engineer (Mrs.) Ini Usoro, said the awardee has maintained the values of the association in her professional life, as well as in recognition of her contribution to waste management in Lagos State.

Mr. Oladimeji Oresanya, Managing Director of LAWMA, described the recipient as a very hard-working individual, who has contributed meaningfully to the achievements recorded so far by the agency.

The Managing Director was the brain behind the construction of Transfer Loading Stations (TLS) at Simpson, Lagos Island and Oshodi, as well as re-engineering of Olusosun Landfill in Ojota.

Kosegbe said the award would inspire her to strive to better the society. She advised women to always stand out in their chosen profession.
