The leader of the Igbo Peoples’ Congress in Akute area of Ogun State, Chief Innocent Friday Okunamiri, has said that his people voted for Senator Ibikunle Amosun, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) gubernatorial candidate in the April general elections because they felt he is the man that can address the plight of Ogun State people, particularly those living in Akute.
Okunamiri lamented that for the past eight years, the people of Akute have been living in a terrible environment, while several save our soul pleas and letters sent to the former governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, fell on deaf ears.
According to the well-travelled traditional titled holder, virtually nothing had been working right in Akuute in the past eight years “may be because the governor felt the residents of the area are not part of the state. We made several efforts to draw his attention to our plight all to no avail.
“And with the transformation going on in Lagos through Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, we felt that Senator Amosun, coming from the same platform with the Lagos State governor will as well do good things in Ogun State, Akute in particular.â€
