Man Remanded For Manslaughter

The police in Ota, Ogun State have dragged Jimoh Ajikasiri, 21 before the Ota Chief Magistrate’s Court for alleged manslaughter.

The prosecutor, Inspector O. Ohiku told the court that the accused was arrested on 12 September, 2010 at the Central Mosque, Ado-Odo for killing Sakiru Odu and Sikiru Yusuf.

He was alleged to have shot them with a locally-made gun.

His co-accused have been sentenced and are serving various jail terms.

The accused is facing a three-count charge of murder before the presiding Magistrate, Alhaji A. Adenariwo.

The offence is punishable under sections 324, 329 and 316 of the Criminal Code of Ogun State, Nigeria.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was ordered to be remanded in prison custody till 21 October, 2011.
