Chief Coach of All Saint Football Club, Kayode Scott, says his team are not afraid of any opponents in the ongoing Boska Cup holding at the Astro turf in the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
All Saint defeated Ambro-Sechi Football Club 4-3 in a penalty shootout after one goal apiece in the regulation time.
Scott told GSG after the encounter that his team are ready to take any opponents that come their way to the cleaners.
He said they are not in Boska Cup for jamboree but to lift the cup.
“It is possible for my team to play in the final. We are not underdogs in this tournament. Though our journey to the final is far, all we need is to stay focused and approach our matches with all seriousness,†he said.
He urged his players not to be complacent in their next game, if they want to remain in the competition.
He said it will be bad if his team crash out in the early stage of the tournament.
“We are not thinking of leaving the competition now because we are enjoying the pitch, officiating and organisation of the championship.
“We want to stay and we can achieve that if we win our next match,†he said.
Meanwhile, Ambro Sechi Coach, Onyema Ede, said his team were unlucky to have crashed out in the tournament despite their performance against All Saint.
He said they would have won the match in regulation time but his team lost concentration during the encounter.
“ Boska Cup is a knock out tourney. There is no room for many mistakes which we did in our match against All Saint FC,†said Ede who promised to do better in the next edition.
