The ongoing 17th National Sports Festival, tagged, Garden City Game, has turned the ever busy complex of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria to a mere relaxation centre.
This is because athletes and officials who are the major users of the stadium are participating in the festival in Port Harcourt.
When P.M.Sports went to the Liason office of Nigeria Tennis Federation, NTF yesterday, no official and player was on ground, while the courts were being used by private individuals who came to play tennis. The situation was the same at the weightlifting and other federation offices.
Only Boska Cup, which is going on at the astro turf of the stadium is the competition that has kept the Sports city busy.
There are strong indications that the National Stadium will come back to life next week after the Sports Festival comes to an end this Sunday.
