Fake Employer Dupes Graduates N255,000

The police in Ota, Ogun State have dragged Lateef Bello, 32, an employer of labour with Tarba Company, Olorunsogo, Ifo before the Ota Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly obtaining about N255,000 from four unemployed graduates on the pretence of securing employment for them in his company.

In the five-count charge filed against him by the police prosecutor, Cpl. O.Owoleke, the accused was alleged to have obtained N95,000 from Adekanbi Olanikan; N35,000 from Ola Alawiye; N100,000 from Sola Obasanya and N25,000 from Kusimo Kehinde under the pretence of securing employment for them at Taraba Company ,Olorunsogo, Ifo.

The prosecutor told the presiding magistrate, Alhaji Akeem Adenariwo that the money gathered from the complaints was used by the accused for his personal needs. The offences contravened Section 419 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State.
