Having consistently topped the Orlando Florida charts for almost two years, Justin Kingland (JKL) has moved the feat to Reverb Nation World Reggae charts, Kuala Lumpur, where he is currently ranked number two in the whole of Malaysia.
JKL, with six nominations at the AEA Award, Malaysia, said he is excited and honoured to be among Nigerian chart toppers in the Diaspora.
Admitting that it gives him joy and equally makes him happy to know that he is a blessing and inspiration to many around him, especially the youths, he vowed to continue with the good work.
“When I came into this country in 2002, there was no single African playing music, it was not easy for me then when I first started. Sincerely, being the first official African to take music to the streets of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, came with lots of challenges. My hard work eventually paid off in 2008, when 4th Quarter Entertainment, Florida, USA, invited me over and now we have over 30 African artistes in Malaysia,†he said.
JKL, who also formed the first African group in the South/East Asian nation in 2005, is excited that his hit single, Google Me from his debut full album, Imperial Light, is ruling the air waves and enjoying rave reviews on the internet.
The entertainer, who plans to invest heavily in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, also disclosed that he had terminated the earlier contract signed with Blackface over what he termed, “professional misconduct and poor/improper attitude to work.â€
