Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has described the death of veteran actor, Mr. Sam Loco-Efe, as a great loss to the state and the Nigerian movie industry.
In a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Peter Okhiria, Governor Oshiomhole, said: “I remember his role as Chief Ukabribri in the television series Hotel de Jordan in the 70s and his rise to stardom as the best actor for his role in Langbodo, Nigeria’s drama entry for FESTAC 77.
“He was an ace actor who brought smiles to the faces of Nigerians with his witty roles in almost all his movies.
“We in Edo have lost a citizen of outstanding worth. He will be sorely missed as he was one of the state’s brightest gifts to the Nollywood industry.â€
The governor prayed God to grant the departed Sam Loco-Efe eternal rest and his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
