Ijebu Ode Hosts Gulder 5-A-Side Tourney

The ancient town of Ijebu-Ode is currently hosting Gulder 5-A-side Football competition zonal elimination contest, an annual national football competition for nonprofessional football talents in the nooks and crannies of the country.

All registered teams from the neighbouring towns and cities in Ogun, Oyo and Osun states are expected to be at the Ijebu-Ode Township Stadium between 16 and 18 August to exhibit their skills and fight for the two tickets allotted to the zone. All teams are expected to arrive with their football kits.

While the competition progresses in the Ijebu Ode zone, preparations are in top gear for the last of the regional qualifying series in Lagos where over 2000 teams, the largest so far, are expected to converge and compete for the two slots allotted to the zone.

The final 14 regional champions (teams), will all gather in Lagos on 5 September to fight for the N8 million prize money.
