This is definitely not the best of times for unrepentant armed robbers in Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, following the return of a seasoned and notable crime fighter, Tunde Sobulo, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, to the city of excellence.

It was gathered that ever since the former commander of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) resumed in Lagos as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), most of the robbers who knew his antecedents have either soft-pedalled or moved to neighbouring states.

Sobulo, who was one time commander of MOPOL 20, Lagos, RRS, Lagos and Fire for Fire, Lagos, is described as an experienced, rugged and versatile crime fighter, with training in the United States of America.

A police source, who spoke under anonymity, said the redeployment of Tunde Sobulo to the Lagos Police Command, Ikeja, as the DCP(Operations) was welcome by all officers and men of the command, not only because of his experience, but also for his humility and natural care for everybody including the ranks and file.
