The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, last weekend, embarked on a humanitarian project in Abule Egba area of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.

The programme, a cleaning exercise, took place at Ahmed Muhammed road beside Agbado-Oke Odo Local Council Development Area secretariat.

Speaking after the exercise, Bishop Ben Sabu, said it was part of the church’s All African Service project which has been on for a while.

“We believe that cleanliness is next to Godliness and know that service to God and humanity is part of our teachings and this motivated us to come out en masse to assist in cleaning the environment.

Mr. Titus Falana, a resident of the area, commended the church for the initiative and recommended that other churches should emulate the good gesture.

Another resident and chairman, Nigerian Legion in the council area, Col. Babalola (rtd), also commended the church, saying “the idea is good and that is why we came here to support them.”
