In order to prevent the complaints about alleged marginalisation by an aggrieved community in Ojodu Local Council Development Area from degenerating to crisis, the chairman of the council, Hon. Julius Oloro, has sued for peaceful co-existence among members.

There had been allegations of plans to stop the incumbent chairman from contesting coming local government election and have him contest as vice chairman to the Secretary to the Local Government, Mr. Yomi Tijani, who some factions claimed to be favoured by the party leadership, to contest as chairman. This had angered a section of the council who had threatened a showdown.

However, Oloro who addressed newsmen on Wednesday said he was still loyal to the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, leadership and urged supporters not to allow detractors to infiltrate them to cause disharmony in the area.

He stated that the party’s state Vice Chairman for Lagos West Senatorial District, Dr. Omolaja Odunbaku, “who has the interest of people at heart irrespective of ethic, political or religion background, with other notable leaders, would choose the right candidate for the election.”

“I appeal to all our members and our teeming supporters not to allow detractors to infiltrate them. I also want to assure you that our great party is a disciplined and law-abiding one. Baba Eto is proactive, he and our other great leaders will choose the right candidate who will be the people’s choice,” he said.

Oloro assured that there was no rift in the party in the council, saying; “I therefore call on those who have been inundating me with calls to take this as the official position of the party in our council and maintain peace and peaceful co-existence.”
