A legal practitioner, Barrister Kunle Adegoke has called on judges to be upright in their duties as the last hope of the common man.

Speaking during the annual seminar organised by the judicial council of the Yaba College of Technology Students’ Union Government, Barrister Adegoke said “judges and students need to be enlightened on how to interprete the laws and appreciate its importance.”

According to him, it is the duty of the judge to settle disputes and avoid any form of anarchy or disagreement among parties.

“The functions of the judiciary in the society cannot be over emphasized,” he added.

Adegoke told the students that they had their fundamental human rights enshrined in the constitution and these are protected by the judicial arm of government.
