Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, was a beehive of activities as the Intercontinental Wrestling Championship tagged “BRF Wrestlemania 2011” entered Day 2 yesterday.
Nigerians who trooped out to watch exciting wrestling bouts inside the Sports Hall of the stadium were excited that what they always watch on television is now happening at their backyard.
In the bouts decided last night, Hawk Power from Benin Republic beat USA Bing of DR Congo. Bambikiller of Austria defeated Strong Bone of Nigeria. Afro D Giant from Nigeria got the better of Super Hercules also of Nigeria, while Kovac of Hong Kong defeated Nigerian Mighty Man.
Tony Destroyer beat Super King. Glamour Girl Beckky defeated Lady Bunmi. Three bouts were disqualified by referees because the wrestlers violated the tournament’s rule. The fights were the Welterweight contest between Vigo Lee and Mr. Sharpman, Hitman Gee and Zean Jim as well as that of Iron Scatter versus Michel Stevan of Cameroon.
