The Joint Military Task Force has arrested three persons in possession of AK-47 rifles and several rounds of ammunition in Bayelsa State following the expiration of the seven days ultimatum to those in possession of illegal arms to surrender them.

The media co-ordinator of the JTF, Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Antiga who confirmed this, expressed disappointment that despite the appeals and ultimatum issued to owners of illegal arms in the Niger Delta region, they have refused to co-operate.

Colonel Antiga vowed that those in possession of illegal arms who refused to surrender them would be arrested.
