Agbaji Ketu Flood Victims Get Relief Items


As a form of relief for victims displaced by flood in Agbaji-Ketu Local Council Development Area, LCDA, the chairperson of the council, Yetunde Arobieke, recently, gave some items to the victims.

The relief items which were presented at the event centre of the council include bags of cement and rice, mats, towel and blankets, Ankara materials, soap and vegetable oil.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS, at the event the chairperson said, “we are distributing these items through the CDA because we feel that is the best way to reach out to the victims and the community dwellers.

“It is the responsibility of the government to see to the welfare of its citizens and this just an extension of our obligation to reduce the suffering of our people,’’ she added.

While presenting the items to the executive of the community, she admonished them to ensure the gifts get to the affected victims.

The affected communities include Owode, Ajegunle, Alapere and Odo-Ogun Areas.

As part of efforts to improve the well-being of the dwellers, a health Centre located at Akinyemi Street, was also commissioned while transformers were presented to three other communities to boost power supply to those areas.
