Lagos Mainland failed to live up to expectations following their 1-4 loss to Ikorodu West in the match played on Saturday at the Astro turf of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
Ikorodu West clinched the three points at stake after Ismail Sunday, Micheal Chibueze, Fadeyi Sunday and Niyi Odunlade netted one goal each.
One of the goal scorers, Odunlade said their victory was well deserved and promised to go all out for victory in their next match.
“We came for this match with determination which paid off at the end of the day. It was a good start for us and I am looking forward to the next match. We still have a long way to go and we cannot afford to lose any match if we want to top the table at the end of the league,” he said.
