Cricket: NCF Confirms Wiltshire As General Manager

The board of the Nigeria Cricket Federation, NCF, has confirmed the appointment of George Wiltshire as the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer, COO, of the federation.

At a meeting held recently at the Kebbi State Hotel, Abuja, the board took some far reaching decision aimed at taking the game to the next level this year.

According to the Communique signed by the president of the NCF, Kwesi Sagoe, the meeting considered the report of the interview panel on the recruitment of a national cricket coach and the COO’s brief on the state of the turf wicket project in Abeokuta, Ogun State and mandated the federation to explore ways of collaboration with the Ogun State Ministry of Sports and private organisations on the project.

It also resolved that would-be sponsors of the federation’s programmes would get tax incentives from the government.

The board, among other things, mandated the federation to approach embassies and high commissions of major cricket countries in Nigeria for donation of cricket equipment. It applauded the upgrading of Nigeria to Category B status of the ICC Capital and Development Grant.
