The Lagos State Volleyball Association is organising the first edition of Male and Female Championship in preparation for the National Sports Festival coming up in Lagos towards the end of the year.
The tournament, which will come up at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre between April 13-15 will attract cash prizes of N100,000, N60,000 and N40,000 for the first, second and third positions respectively.
According to the state technical director of the association, Oladipupo Taiwo, the competition is mainly for the volleyball clubs in the state, because it is aimed at finding Volleyball talents that would represent the state at the forthcoming National Sports Festival.
The chairman of the association, Marcellino Owolabi Martins told the Technical Committee of the association not to leave anything to chance to ensure that the state excels at the festival.
