Messiah Football Club have warned Zion Football Club to prepare for a mother of all battle, when both teams clash in the quarter final of Yusuf Cup, scheduled to hold on Sunday at the Teachers Training College, Ifako-Ijaiye, Lagos.

In a chat with P.M.Sports, Ushurhe Anthony boasted that Zion FC should not think of victory, saying that his team are better than what they played in the group stage.

Anthony said his team are in high spirits and ready to take their opponents to the cleaners when both teams battle for the semi final slot come Sunday.

“Currently, my team are in good form, so I don’t expect anything short of victory on Sunday,” he said.

He urged his players to play purposeful football in order to win the match.

Anthony admitted that the match will not be easy, but his team are ready to go far in the tournament.

He revealed that the club chairman, who doubles as their financier, Dr. Michael Abiodun Oganla, has motivated the team financially, adding that the only way they can pay him back is to lift the cup.

“Our mission is to go far and lift the cup. We have learnt from our mistakes in the previous matches. So, I expect my players to give their best in the remaning matches,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mageeco FC will face Progressive FC on Saturday in one of the quarter final matches lined up for the weekend.
