I Want To Win Laurels For Jokers Stars

Muyiwa Alade of Jokers Stars was a delight to watch in the final of the U-19 Buari Oloto Cup played on Sunday at the Campos Sports Centre. Alade spoke with Grassroots Soccer Guide about how his team defeated B-Unit FC 4-2 in the encounter, his career and future plans.

You had a good game against B-Unit FC in the final of Oloto Cup, what’s the secret?

I’m happy with my performance because I scored two good goals to help my club win the Oloto Cup.

I think I’m now in good form. I have never played like this before and I want to dedicate my two goals to all my fans and my teammates, who supported me throughout this competition.

When did you join Jokers Stars?

I joined the club six years ago and I am happy that the club are doing well as far as grassroots football competitions are concerned in Lagos.

You have stayed long in the club, are you planning to leave the club soon?

It is the wish of every player to move higher in life but at the moment I want to take my time before leaving the club.If I’m leaving the club, I will let you know.

How many laurels have you won with the club?

Related News

Just two, the Ayeni Cup in 2008 and Oloto Cup. I’m not happy winning just two cups wih the club despite playing many football competitions. We often crash out in the group stage. That’s why I was on top of the World when we won the Oloto Cup.

Are you not worried that the club have not really achieved a lot considering what other clubs have achieved?

I am worried, that’s why I want to win more laurels with the club before I leave.

If you have the opportunity to play in the Nigerian League, which Club do you prefer?

I like to play for Sunshine FC. They are one the few professional clubs in Nigeria that play good football. If I have my way in the near future, I can play for the club before I move to Europe.

Which Club do you like to play for in Europe?

Newcastle FC is my favourite club, I will like to start my professional career at the Newcastle Academy team before I graduate to the senior team.
