Lagos FA Cup: COD, Bolowotan Land In S/Final

First runners up in the Lagos FA Cup last year, City of David, COD, Football Club and Bolowotan FC have qualified for the semi final of this year’s edition.

COD defeated Union Bank Football Club 3-1 in the quarter final played yesterday at Agege Stadium, while Bolowotan humbled Kelly FC 6-5 on penalties after ending the regular playing time 2-2.

Daniel Jackson gave COD United the lead in the 21st minute before Ifeanyi George got the second.

Union Bank’s Evans Nwosu reduced the tally before the end of half time. As hostilities resumed in the second half, both teams came out sizing up each other but it was Union Bank that were the most adventurous as they were awarded a penalty.

However, Nwosu who scored the first could not convert the spot kick. George later sent Union Bank packing after he scored the third in the 85th minute.

Action resumes tomorrow as Fame Football Club confront MFM Headquarter Football Team while defending champion, First Bank, tackle Yobo Football Academy in the last match of the quarter final game.

The two semi final matches according to the organizers will hold on Saturday at the Agege Stadium.
