Defending champions of the DSTV Nigeria Basketball League, Royal Hoopers of Port Harcourt on Friday defeated Customs of Lagos by 66-59 points at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.
The rescheduled week 8 match saw Coach Scott Nnaji-led Customs winning the first and the last quarters by 11-9 and 23-16 points respectively.
However, the Coach Ogor Daudu-led Hoopers were the stronger side in the second and third quarters, as they out-played Customs by 16-10 and 25-15 points respectively, winning the game 66-59 points.
After the match, Nnaji told P.M.Sports that the two weeks break the league experienced affected their performance, adding that they are still confident of qualifying for the Super 8.
Coach Odaudu expressed delight over their victory, saying that they hope to record another away win over the Comets when they play today.
