Sponsor Delays Agege Chairman’s Cup Final

Chairman of Ikeja Divisonal Football Association, Dele Gbajumo has revealed why the final of Agege Chairman’s Cup final is yet to hold.

The championship, which kicked off two months ago at the Pako Amoo Sports Centre, Agege is sponsored by the Executive Chairman of Orile Agege Local Council Development Area, Taofeek Adaranijo.

GSG gathered that the final of the tournament was earlierfixed for 15 April, but the game is yet to see the light of day.

Gbajumo told GSG at the Agege Stadium this week that the final was delayed because the cup donor was not in the country for some weeks now, adding that it will not be proper to play the final in his absence.

“We want to appeal to the two finalists to exercise patience with us. For now, we are still waiting for the sponsor to give us a date for the final ceremony,” he said.

To reach the final stage of the tourney, Mageeco Football Club defeated Solid Rock II Football Club 1 -0, while The Boys Football Club thrashed Solid Rock I Football Club 2-1 in the second semi final.
