Two Commissioners in Lagos State have been summoned by the state House of Assembly over an alleged illegal funding of the Junior League Board.

The Commissioners are Enitan Oshodi of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and his counterpart in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ademorin Kuye.

They were invited following concerns by members of the House about their roles in the funding of the board of the league.

The House also invited the Chairman of Conference 57 and the Secretary of the Junior League for allegedly collecting money from the 20 local government areas and local council development areas in the state.

Chairman of the House of Assembly Committee on Youth and Sports, Babatunde Ayeni, who raised the motion at the floor of the House, lamented the alleged non-challant attitude of the board to the Committee’s earlier invitation over the unconstitutional ways the board raised its funds.

Contributions from other lawmakers on the issue pointed to the fact that the collection of money from the local government chairmen by the board was without due process, while the way they spent public funds was unacceptable.

They also queried the refusal of the leadership of the Junior League Board to appear before the Committee.  The House, therefore, resolved to summon all parties concerned to appear before it.
