Manko Orders Arrest Of ASP

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Umar Manko, has ordered the arrest of an Assistant Superintendent of Police who is also the O/C Surveillance at Area F Division, Mr Victor Agboneze, and Inspector Isaac Osigbe, over the escape of the major suspect in the killing of Pa Alfred Rewane.

P.M.News investigation revealed that the suspect, an indigene of Edo State was arrested in his residence at No. 7, Muri Abiola Street, Oke-Aro, Alagbado, Ogun State by policemen attached to Area F Divisional Headquarters, Ikeja, Lagos State, on a tip-off.

According to a police source, the suspect travelled out to Spain immediately after Rewane’s assassination and was said to have been arrested by the police when he came back and later released to his landlord on bail after paying a huge amount of money.

The source told P.m.news: “The suspect was later re-arrested and the Investigation Police Officer, Inspector Sogo, handed him over to Asp Victor Agbonese, who then handed him over to Inspector Isaac Osigbe, a Crime Record Officer(CRO). The suspect, it was learnt, took the police officer to a beer parlour and got him drunk after which he escaped.

It was gathered that the six buses that the suspect brought from Spain have been impounded by the police, as one of the buses marked V7710EF with white colour is now parked at police Area F, Ikeja.
