Oladunjoye Tasks Principal's Cup Winners

Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye has tasked winners of GTB Lagos State Principal’s Cup to face their studies and shun social vices if they want to excel in their educational careers.

Oladunjoye stated this while presenting the cheques of N5 million to the winners yesterday in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

Dairy Farm Senior Secondary School, Agege won the male category of this year’s tournament with a cash prize of N1 million,  the first runners up, Sango Senior Secondary School, Agege received N750, 000, while Angus Memorial Senior High School and Oshodi Senior High School, who came third and fourth got N500, 000 and N250, 000 respectively.

Winners in the female’s category, Kuje Senior Secondary School, received the sum of N1 million, CMS Senior Secondary School, Bariga received N750, 000 as the runners up, while Jubilee Senior Model College, Surulere and Ikotun Senior Secondary School, got  N500, 000 and N250,000 respectively.

Oladunjoye, who was impressed with the standard of this year’s tourney admonished the students to take their education serious, adding that a footballer without education cannot go far in his or her chosen career.

She explained that it will not be advisable for any student to focus on sports and forget education while in school, as such student will not be useful in the society after retiring from active football.
