Wolves' Coach, Cooreman Hospitalised

Warri Wolves’ coach, Maurice Cooreman has been hospitalised and will now miss the Matchday 33 Nigeria Premier League (NPL) game with Dolphins in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

The veteran gaffer took ill on Tuesday evening and has now been diagnosed with typhoid and malaria.

“I was preparing for the trip to Port Harcourt for the game against Dolphins, when I suddenly started sweating profusely. I was rushed to the hospital and the doctors said I have typhoid and malaria,” Cooreman told SuperSport.com.

The 69-year-old described the condition as serious, explaining that he would not be in Port Harcourt for the big game against the reigning NPL champions.

“I have never been this ill before. I hope I recover in time but there is no way I will be in Port Harcourt for the Dolphins’ match. I am still in hospital and I am very weak and ill right now,” he explained.

The Belgian however insisted that the team would not miss him with his assistant Edema Fuludu set to take the reins.

“I won’t be missed because everyone knows what to do. The boys have trained well and my assistants are capable.”

They are all motivated,” he said.
