Damilola Taylor Football Academy began their campaign in this year’s MTN Lagos Street Soccer on a bright note, as they won two matches, drew one and lost one match.
The tournament kicked off at various centres across Lagos State at the weekend.
Playing at Elegbata Sports Centre on Lagos Island, Damilola Taylor Academy showed that they are in the tourney this year for serious business. The team walloped Upper Stranchan Street of Lagos Island 3-0, defeated Grifith Street of Lagos Island 4-2, drew 2-2 with Bola Street of Mainland and lost 0-3 to Koilo Street of Lagos Island in the last match of the day.
Damilola Taylor Coach, Ahmed Suleiman, expressed satisfaction with the performance of his team, saying the results showed that his team were prepared for the championship.
“It was a good beginning for us and I’m glad that my players, who are very young, proved themselves in the first matches,” he said.
Organisers of the tournament told P.M. Sports that they were impressed with fans who came out in their numbers to watch matches in various centres.
