Federation Cup: Kwara United, Pillars Set Agege Stadium Aglow

Agege Stadium will come alive this afternoon as matches in the Round of 16 of the Federation Cup begin at the venue today.

Kwara United will take the first salvo when they confront El-Kanemi Football Club of Maiduguri at 2pm, while Kano Pillars will battle Crown Football Club of Ogbomosho in the second match scheduled for 4pm today.

The teams would observe tomorrow as rest day, and return for actions on Wednesday with Kano Pillars exchanging tackles with Kwara United, while El-Kanemi tango with Crown FC later that day.

The group phase of the Federation Cup, formerly known as the National FA Cup, will be rounded off on Friday, 20 July 2012. El-Kanemi play their last game against Kano Pillars at 2pm, while Crown FC will battle Kwara United later in the evening.

Officials of the Lagos State Football Association, said everything has been put in place to ensure a hitch-free tournament, and urged soccer fans to come to the stadium and cheer the teams to victory.

Four other matches would hold at the Ibadan and Port Harcourt centres today, while the ones slated for Bauchi may not hold.
