Kano Pillars and El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri will today at the Agege Stadium, Lagos battle for one of the two quarter final slots available at the Lagos centre of the ongoing Federation Cup.
Both teams are tied on four points apiece with Pillars having superior goal advantage, but Crown of Ogbomoso still have a chance to qualify if they defeat Kwara United at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium in Surulere, hoping that either Pillars defeat El-Kanemi or otherwise.
The Pillars versus El-Kanemi tie promises to be explosive and exciting, as both teams will want to progress to the next stage of the competition.
El-Kanemi, who just gained promotion to the Nigeria Premier League, NPL, having emerged champions of the Nigeria National League, NNL, will want to create an upset by defeating Pillars, who are NPL title contenders.
Both teams have all to play for, but their eyes and heart will be on the outcome of Kwara versus Crown tie.
Meanwhile, in its bid to forestall any form of match-fixing, the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has ordered all the games to be played simultaneously.
In Ibadan, organisers have moved Rangers to the University of Ibadan pitch to play their last game against Dynamite Force of Benin, while Prime FC will be at the Lekan Salami Stadium to play Sharks and both matches are scheduled to kick off at 3pm local time.
Oyo FA secretary Kehinde Ojelowo confirmed the decision.
The same applies in Port Harcourt, while in Bauchi, Enyimba and Lobi will slug it out to determine who tops the group after Warri Wolves boycotted the cup competition for fear of their safety.
