Nutricima Limited has declared its resolve to take the leadership of the market for ready to drink yoghurt, as it launched a natural flavour variant of its popular Yo! range of yoghurt in Abuja this week.

Experts estimate the ready to drink market to be worth about N20 billion in size, but this is largely fragmented due to production by cottage firms lacking modern marketing practices in packaging and promotion.

NAFDAC Director General, Dr. Paul Orhii, formally presented Yo Classic Yoghurt to the Northern market at a ceremony at the Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja on Tuesday, 14 August.

an Assistant Director, Mr. Abdulsalam Ozigis, represented the director general of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control.

Addressing journalists at the launch, Nutricima’s Head of Marketing, Mrs. Wande Oluwasegunfunmi, stated that Nutricima was introducing modern nutrition science and manufacturing practices to present the popular yoghurt drink in a ready to drink, appealing and affordable packaging for the benefit of health conscious consumers.

She said that Nutricima had chosen to produce and market yoghurt in a modern format for the benefit of health conscious consumers who care about what they ingest.
