NUJ Games Hots Up In Lagos

The National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos is a beehive of activities as this year’s Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Games enters the quarter final stage today.

The Media Games, as it is popularly called by participants, is an annual multi-sports competition organised to foster unity, inter-relationship and healthy competition among journalists in Lagos State.

When P.M.NEWS visited the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos yesterday, venue of the football event, Lagos Information beat Radio Lagos 3-1, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN defeated SportsDay 1-0, while Complete Sports and The Sun walked over The Nation and the boys from New Nigerian Newspaper respectively. The lone goal scorer for FRCN was Tunde Oseni, who fired home a powerful shot past Jerome Obuninta, who was in goal for SportsDay.

Meanwhile, Kisti Golih of Voice of Nigeria, VON, yesterday won gold in the female table tennis after she defeated Iyabo Ogunjuyigbe of Radio Lagos 11-6, 11-6 and 11-9 in the final match that took place at the Knock-up hall inside the stadium. Nike Adefolaju got the bronze medal in the same event.
