Fuji music czar, Wasiu Ayinde Anifowose, K1, had every reason to bubble last week as he flung open the gates of his newly completed multi-million naira mansion in Ijebu Ode to family and friends, and obliged journalists with a tour of the facility.
The edifice, located on Liworo Avenue, GRA, Ijebu Ode, was formally opened with a small party attended by select family members and friends of the musician during the Eid-el-Kabir festival.
The building, named “Ule Omo Ojushagbola”, an allusion to K1’s membership of the Fidipote ruling house of Ojushagbola, is the music star’s second in the town. He already owned one where his mum lives in the heart of the town. The sprawling country home, which he started building in 2011, is an architectural masterpiece.
It sits on 1,800 square metres and is made up of four buildings, including a seven-bedroom main house, an eight-room guest house, a gym and a music recording studio.
It also has a sumptuous gate house, a praying area and staff quarters. In all, the edifice has 20 rooms.
The Fuji music lord surely loves living like a true star. The main house is supported by six Graeco-Roman pillars, high grade granite floor and all the rooms are fitted with Swiss Trade bullet-proof doors. Alluring too is the swimming pool and fountain. To forestall power interruptions, there are three diesel-powered generators running intermittently.
“K1 has shown that when it comes to style, he is incomparable and stands unique. This is an icon who has an extraordinary taste and loves the good life. I have been following this great man and have observed that he never goes for anything cheap,” Kunle Rasheed, editor, Global Excellence told this magazine.
TheNEWS gathered that the music star has spent over N300 million on the building project. This includes over N30 million spent on bullet-proof doors, N17 million on kitchenette and an undisclosed amount on the rehabilitation of the roads leading to the mansion.
A close aide of the music star told this magazine that K1 has a large investment portfolio in the property market at home and abroad. Apart from his modest Castle of Peace on Ago PalaceWay, Okota, Lagos, K1 also has several houses in Lekki and Magodo areas of Lagos. He has four properties in Canada, including the Ontario apartment where his wife, Wendy stays with their daughter, Isabella.
