Venezuela Friendly: NFF Alters Eagles Training Schedule

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has altered the training schedule of the Super Eagles ahead of the international friendly against Venezuela on 14 November in Miami, United States.

It was gathered that the team under the tutelage of Coach Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, now leave their training camp at the Bolton White Apartment in Zone 7, Abuja at 6:30am for training till about 9:30 am.

“It’s all in a bid to ensure that the match time for the friendly against Venezuela and the sunny nature of the weather that is expected when the two teams tango in the United States is followed”, team Scribe, Dayo Enebi Achor said on Tuesday.
The match time has been scheduled for 8:30pm Nigerian time and 2am CAT, but the organizers say the weather will be very sunny on match day.

“The team will train throughout this week and are expected to jet out by weekend for the friendly against the highly rated Venezuelans”, Ben Alaiya, the Eagles media officer said.

In another development, the Eagles boss, Keshi, said he was delighted that one of his players, Peter Osaze Odemwingie, got a brace in his team’s 2-0 win against Southampton on Monday night in the English Premier League.

“We always want our top players to be on top of their game and I am delighted to see him score a brace after we have succeeded in convincing him that the national team still needs his services.

“We pray that all our players continue to be in good health and score for their club sides ahead of the Nations Cup championship. It means we will have a very good squad at the CAN 2013 championship”, Keshi declared.
