Eko Boys Defeat Katsina Male Football Team

The Lagos State male football team began their campaign on a winning note at the ongoing National Sports Festival tagged “Eko 2012”, as they defeated their Katsina counterparts 2-0.

Both goals came via headers and they were scored in each half of the encounter watched by a scanty crown at the Onikan Stadium  on Monday.

Ayodele Solomon and Otuke Jacob scored for Lagos State in each half of the game played on the bumpy pitch, 39th and 73rd minute respectively.

The bumpy pitch denied the Lagos State team the opportunity to play their usual free-flow football, as against the Northerners, who were much taller and physical.

The Katsina football team used their aerial ability against their opponents, who found it very hard to dominate the game until the later part of the encounter. From the blast of the whistle the Katsina team found it hard to contain their opponents, who employed short and incisive passes.
