President of Nigeria Olympic Committee, NOC, Engr. Sani Ndanusa has tipped the Super Eagles to win the forthcoming Nations Cup in South Africa.

Ndanusa told futaa.com that Stephen Keshi’s team have a great chance of winning the title despite the fact that few of the players in camp will be new to the tournament, which will get underway on 19 January.

“Keshi has done so well with the Super Eagles, and Nigeria should support the team wholeheartedly. The Nigerian team  have never been a pushover in African football, especially at the senior level and I expect the team to do Nigeria  proud by going far in the tournament.

“In fact, there is nothing stopping them from winning the title. The players have to be determined and I believe we can win the Nations Cup this time,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kano Pillars’ coach Baba Ganaru, has declared that Nigeria’s coach Stephen Keshi would be doing the country’s football ‘a lot of good’ if he decides to include a high number of Nigeria Premier League players in his final list for the 2013 Nations Cup.

Ganaru, while reflecting on the Super Eagles’ performance against Catalonia in a friendly, told futaa.com that Keshi would boost the confidence of domestic players as well as enhance the reputation of the Nigerian league by giving the players the chance to play in a big tournament like the  Nations Cup.

“It was an impressive outing judging by the result. Very few would have predicted the result and I think it (result) would boost the confidence of the team ahead of the tournament.

“Keshi seems to have lots of thrust in the home-based players because he started with majority of them.”

I hope he finds space for a high number of them in the final list because by doing this, he would be doing Nigerian football a whole lot o good,” he said.
